22 Christmas Porch Decor Ideas
We are so excited to start decorating for Christmas! One of the first areas we plan to decorate is our porch.
We have found plenty of Christmas porch decor ideas that are not only beautiful but easy to make.
1. Wrap your porch with Christmas lights
Christmas lights don’t just have to go around your roofline. If you have a railing on your porch, wrap it with Christmas lights to make a big statement.
You can also wrap your porch columns with lights or even hang lights from your eaves to create a cozy glow around your porch.
2. Make a Christmas wreath the focal point of your porch
If you have a large front porch, it can be difficult to decide where to place your Christmas decorations.
A great way to make a statement in a large space is to add a wreath to the focal point of your porch.
In this case, the wreath is hung on the front door, and the rest of the decorations are kept simple.
A small tree, a few presents, and some garland are all that’s needed to make this space feel festive.
3. Add a bench with Christmas pillows and throw blankets
You can also add a bench to your porch and make it look inviting with Christmas pillows and throw blankets.
I found these pillows and this blanket at Hobby Lobby. I love the texture of the blanket and the pom poms on the pillows.
I also added a small tree in a galvanized bucket and a few gifts to the bench to make it look like a cozy Christmas scene.
4. Add a Christmas tree to your porch
If you have the space, adding a Christmas tree to your porch is a great way to make a statement.
You can use a real tree, a faux tree, or even a topiary tree for a more classic look.
I used a small faux tree and placed it in a white basket.
I then added battery-operated twinkle lights, white poinsettias, and a large red and white bow to the tree to give it a classic look.
5. Add a garland to your porch
If you have a porch railing, a garland is the perfect way to decorate it for Christmas.
You can use a fresh evergreen garland or a faux one, and then add lights and ribbon to make it look festive.
You can also add in other decorative elements like ornaments, pine cones, and berries. Get creative and use whatever you have on hand!
6. Use a sled as a Christmas decoration
If you have an old sled, use it as a Christmas decoration on your porch!
You can add a wreath to the front of the sled, add a few presents on top, and even add a blanket or two to the sled.
If you don’t have a sled, you can find them at antique stores, flea markets, or even on Facebook Marketplace.
I found this sled at an antique store and I love using it as a Christmas decoration!
7. Add Christmas planters to your porch
There’s nothing like a beautiful planter to add a pop of color to your porch.
I love using planters to add seasonal color and greenery to my outdoor spaces.
One of the easiest ways to add a festive touch to your porch is with Christmas planters.
You can make your own or buy pre-made planters from your local nursery or garden center.
I made these planters with red and white flowers and greenery, and I love how they look flanking the steps on my front porch.
I also added a few ornaments to the planters to give them a little extra sparkle.
If you want to add height to your porch, you can place the planters on top of plant stands, or you can hang them from hooks on the porch ceiling.
Conclusion
We hope you have as much fun putting these Christmas porch decor ideas together as we did. With a little planning and a few hours of work, you can have a porch that screams holiday cheer!
