49 Natural Christmas Decor Ideas

As you might remember from my Fall Home Tour, I’ve been loving the natural, neutral decor.

I’ve especially been into the black and white buffalo check.

I knew I wanted to do something similar for Christmas, but I also wanted to throw in some navy and green to give it a cozy, cabin feel.

I’ve had a blast decorating this year for the holidays, and I’m excited to share my Natural Christmas Decor Ideas with all of you!

1. Use fresh greenery

Natural Christmas Decor

You can’t go wrong with fresh greenery at Christmas time! It’s an easy way to add a festive and natural touch to just about any space.

I love the look of fresh garlands and wreaths, but you can also use clippings from your yard or garden.

I have several evergreen trees and bushes in my yard, so I love to clip a few branches and use them to create my own arrangements.

You can also buy fresh greenery at most home improvement stores or tree lots.

And, if you’re not into the whole fresh plant thing, faux greenery is a great option too!

2. Add a few pine cones

Pine cones are another natural element that are perfect for Christmas decorating. You can add them to your tree, to a wreath, or to a garland.

I love to use pine cones in apothecary jars, or just scattered around my house. We have a lot of pine trees in our neighborhood, so I can collect them for free!

3. Create a garland for your mantel

If you have a mantel, you can create a beautiful garland using natural elements.

I love the look of a simple evergreen garland, but you could also add in pinecones, dried oranges, or even eucalyptus

if you want to mix textures and colors.

I used faux cedar garland and added in some real cedar clippings from our backyard to make it look even more full.

You could also buy a cedar garland and add in other elements if you don’t have a lot of greenery around your home.

4. Display your favorite holiday treats

Natural Christmas Decor

Create a simple and festive display by filling a few glass jars with your favorite holiday treats.

I used a large glass jar to hold a big pile of gingerbread cookies, and a smaller jar to hold a pile of peppermints.

I also filled a small bowl with some cinnamon sticks and a few star anise pods, which made the whole room smell amazing!

I love that all of the ingredients can be eaten or used in cooking after the holidays are over.

5. Add a few natural elements to your tree

Fresh tree trimmings, pinecones, pampas grass, dried flowers, and more can be used to add a touch of nature to your tree.

You can even add in a few stems of faux florals and greenery to make your tree look fuller.

To make the most of your natural elements, place them in clusters around the tree,

and be sure to step back and look at the tree from all angles to make sure you have a balanced look.

6. Use fresh fruit as a table centerpiece

If you’re hosting a holiday dinner, consider using a bowl of fresh fruit as a centerpiece.

This is a simple and inexpensive way to add a pop of color to your table and it’s also a great way to encourage your guests to eat more fruit!

I used a mix of oranges, lemons, and limes in my centerpiece. You could also use apples, pears, and pomegranates.

I love the way the bright colors of the fruit look against the green of the Christmas tree. It’s a simple and classic look that works with any style of decor.

7. Create a simple wreath for your front door

A traditional Christmas wreath is a classic way to decorate your front door for the holiday season.

This one is made with a simple mix of pine, cedar, and eucalyptus, and then I added some faux berries and pinecones to fill in the gaps.

You can make a wreath like this yourself or look for one at your local Christmas tree lot or nursery.

I’ve also seen similar ones for sale at Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods.

8. Add a few small potted plants to your decor

If you’re not a fan of faux greenery, you can still create a beautiful natural look with small potted plants.

I used a few small potted plants to create a simple centerpiece on my dining room table and I love how it turned out.

You can also use small potted plants to add a touch of Christmas to your kitchen, bathroom or bedroom.

Conclusion

We hope these ideas help you add some natural elements to your home this holiday season. Let us know if you have any natural Christmas decor ideas you would like to share! We would love to hear from you!
